2. Experiment with different products & application techniques

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution for natural hair because every head is unique! Try different products (gels, foams, creams) and vary up your application (scrunching, finger-coiling, etc.) to discover what works best for you. The right technique can make all the difference, so don’t be afraid to try new things!

3. Remember that the transition stage is temporary

In the beginning, your hair might not look exactly how you want it to, but that’s completely normal. Keep in mind that this stage is only temporary! With time, your hair will get healthier and curlier. All it takes is patience and persistence!

4. Get a trim every 2-3 months

To maintain healthy hair and get rid of the damage, trim your ends every 2-3 months. Not only do trims keep your hair healthier, they also help enhance your natural curl pattern.

5. Protect your hair while you sleep

Sleep protection is crucial if you want your curls to last longer in between wash days. Use a satin pillowcase to protect your hair (and your skin!) from friction. This will minimise frizz and help keep your curls intact.

Bonus Tip: Opt for satin scrunchies which are gentle on your hair and won’t pull on or break it. You can find our favourite hair accessories here!

6. Change takes time, but the results are worth it

We get it - change isn’t always easy, and embracing your natural hair takes time. But the truth is, your hair is uniquely beautiful! It’s time to let go of old stereotypes and see it for what it really is: gorgeous, strong, and full of personality.

With the right care and patience, your hair will become healthier, stronger, and more vibrant than ever. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results right away - consistency is key. What matters most is showing your hair love at every stage of the journey.

Instead of trying to change it, learn to appreciate and care for it. Your natural hair is stylish, professional, and, most importantly, a true reflection of who you are!
