4 tips to recover from summer hair

As temperatures finally drop here in Cyprus, we’re left looking back at summer and all the great memories it left us with.

But the summer can also leave us with hair that’s feeling dull, dry and a little on the damaged side.

Not to worry! We’ve got 4 easy tips to help you recover from summertime hair and transition into healthy and shiny curls..

Tip 1: Use a bond building treatment

Your hair is made out of bonds. When hair is exposed to the sun, chlorine and seawater (as well as chemical treatments and hair dyes), these bonds break and hair becomes damaged.

Bond building treatments like the Curlsmith Bond Curl Rehab Salve work by repairing those broken bonds, leaving you with healthier hair that has better definition and much more shine.

  1. Dampen hair
  2. Apply Bond Curl Rehab Salve in sections
  3. Wait at least 15 minutes (or more, for more damaged hair)
  4. Rinse off
  5. Shampoo, condition and style as normal

Tip 2: Add protein

This step is crucial for fine hair, hair that lacks structure and hair that has been dyed or chemically treated!

If you do an intense workout at the gym, your muscles need protein to recover. Think of your hair in the same way - the summer period was a pretty intense workout!

By adding protein into your hair routine, you give strength to your hair.

Try the Bouclème Protein Booster or the Ecoslay Matcha Boost

How To Use:

Bouclème Protein Booster: Add 6 drops to your shampoo / conditioner / curl cream

Ecoslay Matcha Boost: Use as a treatment after you shampoo and before you condition your hair

Tip 3: Don’t forget the moisture

Moisture should be  a staple in your routine. For curls to form, they need to be well moisturised and curly hair is by nature, drier than straight hair.

Always use a conditioner and if your hair is feeling extra dry, then grab a deep conditioner like the Ecoslay Banana Cream to give your hair that extra boost of moisture.

The Banana Cream is a 3-in-1 multipurpose masterpiece!

Use it as:

  1. A normal conditioner
  2. A deep conditioner
  3. A leave-in conditioner

Tip 4: Take your vitamins!

“You are what you eat” and your hair is definitely what you eat! Did you know that nutrients (from foods and supplements) travel to your whole body and go last to your hair?

So if you want healthy hair, you need a healthy, varied diet. The Curlsmith Ultra-Lengths Vitamins are the perfect supplement for improving overall hair health and achieving your length goals.
